I really got lucky when I called a phone number on a real estate for-sale sign and Todd Killian answered. From that day on, for over 18 months, Todd was there for me step by step throughout my first-time home buying experience. From the first day to the last Todd was constantly looking out for my best interests. I met with Todd multiple times to go look at properties that either he had discovered, or I saw on his automated emails of current and new listings. I felt comfortable with Todd and was able to be candid with my thoughts about the properties. Todd always let me form my own opinions, all the while he was pointing out the pros and cons of each property. Not once did I feel pressured or like I was letting Todd down when I repeatedly passed on property after property. I’m a very picky person and I knew what I wanted in a house. Todd took my likes and dislikes into consideration for future listings. When there seemed to be no properties that interested me for a couple months at a time, Todd constantly remained positive and reassured me that we would eventually find a house that would be “the one” for me. It was comforting to hear Todd’s positive attitude when I was frustrated. I knew Todd was behind the scenes working and looking for me. The first offer I made was on a short-sale house that I eventually backed out of after losing interest. I felt bad for making Todd do so much work and put forth so much effort in dealing with the short-sale seller and banks. Todd never complained and was understanding when I decided to walk away from the deal. The second offer I made was on property I initially passed up on, but a few weeks later really wanted. The property was already in contract, but Todd did everything he could to get me back in the mix of things. We eventually lost out on the property on the last day when the other buyers had to remove their contingencies, but Todd was fighting for me until the last second. Todd kept me up to date with everything that was going on, sort of like a play by play of things. Finally, on a day we were going to meet at 4:30 pm to look at a house that had been on the market for a week, Todd called me at 12 pm and told me of another house that had just came on the market that day and he knew we needed to see it as soon as possible. We decided to meet at this new house at 4:00 pm. Thanks to Todd, I was the first prospective buyer to enter this new listing. Todd was already there when I arrived, and when I stepped one foot through the front door, I knew it was “the one.” Like he did on my previous offers, Todd immediately got to work. Throughout the entire process, Todd made daily phone calls and sent emails to the listing agent to keep constant pressure on them to move the process along. Even on days when there was nothing new to report, Todd kept me up to date, even if was just to let me know there was nothing new. It was awesome to know Todd was truly going to bat and looking out for me. Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience or real estate agent during my first-time home buying experience. If I ever decide to sell or purchase another home, my real estate agent will be Todd Killian. Thanks Todd!!
